Richard E. Rotner Chairman/Principal
Mr. Rotner is the Chairman of H&R, which he founded in 1983. In addition to tenant representation, he has been responsible for the syndication, development, leasing, and management of shopping centers for over 17 limited partnerships. He has personally developed more than 2 million square feet of retail real estate in the Greater DC/Baltimore market. Prior to founding H&R, Mr. Rotner was a V.P. of Midcon Industries in New York - a firm that developed or purchased approximately 150 shopping centers and regional malls. He is also the President of Maryland Financial Investors, Inc., a property management company, which is responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of commercial properties. Mr. Rotner received a B.S. from the University of Maryland, received a J.D. from New York Law School, and is a member of the NY Bar Association and District of Columbia Bar Associations. <top>

David A. Ward President/Principal
Mr. Ward is President and Principal of H&R Retail . He joined H&R in 1989, was named president 10 years later, and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the firm. Mr. Ward has extensive experience in shopping center leasing, tenant representation, land acquisition and land development, having completed over 600 retail transactions including the development/redevelopment of over 1 million square feet of shopping center space. He is frequently quoted as an industry expert by national and regional publications, and was named by the Washington Business Journal as one of the "Business People to Watch" and "40 under 40" by the Baltimore Business Journal. Mr. Ward is a member of ICSC and Urban Land Institute. Mr. Ward received his B.S. in Finance from Towson University. <top>

James P. Crilley Principal
Jim joined H&R Retail in July 2002 focusing on what he had done for over twenty years, Landlord Representation. Prior to joining
H&R Retail Jim was the Senior Vice President-Leasing at Combined Properties, Inc., a firm he was with for almost fourteen years. Throughout his career Jim has cultivated strong relationships with national, regional and local tenants as well as property owners and the brokerage community. Since joining H&R, he led the leasing efforts in the re-tenanting of the 425,000 SF Laurel Lakes Centre in
Laurel, Maryland successfully negotiated deals with Ross, Staples, Modell’s and Michael’s, as well as 20,000 square feet of shop space and two restaurant pads. Additionally, Jim was involved with the leasing of the new
Fortuna
Village
Center in

Michael Gorsage Principal/Investment Sales
Mike Gorsage is a Principal with H&R Retail the largest retail-only real estate brokerage in the Washington D.C./Baltimore metropolitan area. Mike leads the Investment Sales Group whose sole focus is facilitating the disposition and acquisition of retail real estate. Mike brings to the company more than 25 years of commercial real estate experience including retail investment sales, project leasing, tenant representation, development, acquisition, disposition, and the structuring of joint venture partnerships. Mike started his real estate career with CBRE in 1978 as a retail leasing agent and was involved in more than 300 retail property sales and lease transactions, including projects such as Georgetown Park, Mazza Gallerie and numerous neighborhood and community centers in the Washington/Baltimore metropolitan area. In 1986, he was named Vice President/Director of Marketing for Retail Properties for the Eastern Seaboard (Boston to Miami). During this time, Mike coordinated major tenant and landlord representation assignments. In 1988, Mike joined a local development company and as President was responsible for the development of Chevy Chase Pavilion, a 750,000 square foot urban mixed use project, and Idylwood Plaza, a 75,000 square foot neighborhood center anchored by Whole Foods. style=""> Since 1995, Mike has focused exclusively on Retail Investment Sales and has closed transactions with total consideration in excess of $1 billion. Mike holds a B.S. degree from Indiana University. Kate Howarth Managing Director/Investment Sales
Kate Howarth joined H&R Retail in December 2003 as Managing Director of Investment Properties. In this capacity, Ms. Howarth is responsible for the operations and the marketing of the group including client relations, underwriting, market research, and technical applications. Prior to joining H&R, Ms. Howarth worked at CB Richard Ellis specializing in the sale of retail investment properties and before that oversaw the underwriting and marketing efforts for the Mid Atlantic Investment Sales Group of Trammell Crow Company which sold almost $1 billion worth of office, retail and industrial properties during her three year tenure. <top>

Geoffrey Mackler
Mr. Mackler specializes in leasing and land acquisitions. He is also a Principal of H&R, which he joined in June of 1999. At H&R, he exclusively represents such retailers as Circuit City, LA Fitness, PetSmart, Staples, The Sports Authority, The Room Store, SunTrust Bank, Pei Wei Asian Diner, Macaroni Grill, and On The Border, among others. Mr. Mackler is currently serving his second term as the ICSC Maryland State Alliance Co-Chair. He is a Cum Laude graduate of the University of Florida, received a J.D. from the University of Baltimore Law School, and is a member of both the Maryland and District of Columbia Bar Associations. <top>

Scott N. Yurow Principal
Scott joined H&R Retail in 1994 and has since completed more than 700 transactions. Before then, he was the Executive Vice President for a local department store chain, responsible for all aspects of a real estate portfolio in excess of 1 million square feet. He was also responsible for merchandising and operations related to the discount department store chain. His experiences have provided him with a comprehensive perspective of the requirements of retail real estate. Scott graduated from George Washington University and Catholic University School of Law. Scott specializes in urban redevelopment, shopping center leasing and tenant representation.
